Oh My God

I know I know I haven't written much lately but I've been busy :) I have joined a community garden and now am the proud owner of two 4 x 8 garden plots. I've planted lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumber, bell pepper, habanero pepper, and eggplant in one, and half corn and half green beans in the other. Plus in my back patio area at home I have all kinds of herbs going. Including ginger root. I really hope all of this grows successfully...I love fresh produce so much.

So between the garden, the usual flea market madness and grange events and all I haven't been on here much. BUT I did find a couple of blogs that are worth reading...

more blasts from the past

So I have access to a scanner for a bit and have been scanning old photos and uploading them to facebook and other places. As a result of these class photos from 5th and 6th grade being posted on facebook I'm now friends with a total of 5 people from my elementary school days....we're talking 1975/1976 here.

So another wave of nostalgia created by FB....I've had a few of those come around.

A blast from the past

This is a DJ from my young adulthood....he left radio for quite some time but has come back out with an online version of his Idiot show. Welcome back my friend.

Flea Market Craziness

Almost done with getting ready for the flea market. Sign is hung, I should get the vendor list/table assignments this week, then I just need to prepare for a long day at the market itself.

For anyone interested here is a facebook link:

Deep Freeze

So the snow is gone and now we are sitting at about 19 degrees. Pretty damn cold. Why did I end up here instead of somewhere warmer like Hawaii or Airzona or something? Well they can be a bit much in the summer but damn they would be nice in the winter. This deep cold and possible snow and ice every year is wearing on me. I like this place a lot better in the spring and summer. And I guess fall up to a point.

I plan to take more photos of the monthly flea market coming up next weekend. If you are in the Portland are the info is at www.leedygrange.org. I'd love to see this get even more popular than it is already. If you want to reserve a table for next month it's only 10 bucks :).

Snow? or not

Supposedly we are getting the last major snow storm of the season tonight...and so far I have seen no signs. Not sure how it will be when I wake up though.

Correction...I just checked outside and it is starting to snow lightly...hmmm.....

I have been a member of the local grange hall, Leedy Grange, since about November or so....and am starting to spend a lot of time there between local meetings, counties wide meetings and other events going on as fundraisers and the like. There is a monthly flea market that's held at the hall....and it looked like it was in danger of being cancelled due to the person running it not being able to anymore. So I volunteered to take it over....but I don't know what I'm doing so I have to have other people help me figure this out. But I really want to take this over I think it would be fun and a good outlet for me....and I love it so much it would be worth my while. It's a great flea market.....in the Cedar Mill area of Portland....anyone who might read this and is in the area should check it out.

Busy week and weekend

First off this is kinda weird but intriguing at the same time: http://lifehacker.com/#!5765611/build-your-own-diy-stone-bath-mat

on other notes I had a busy week of work and of the older girls getting their wisdom teeth out and hanging out with at least one of them while they had the procedure done. They are both recovering nicely and are sick of really soft food :)

Working on a couple of projects for the local grange hall ....I plan to help with the monthly flea market we have so it can keep going and we are going to put a presence on facebook as well....should be interesting.
