Deep Freeze

So the snow is gone and now we are sitting at about 19 degrees. Pretty damn cold. Why did I end up here instead of somewhere warmer like Hawaii or Airzona or something? Well they can be a bit much in the summer but damn they would be nice in the winter. This deep cold and possible snow and ice every year is wearing on me. I like this place a lot better in the spring and summer. And I guess fall up to a point.

I plan to take more photos of the monthly flea market coming up next weekend. If you are in the Portland are the info is at www.leedygrange.org. I'd love to see this get even more popular than it is already. If you want to reserve a table for next month it's only 10 bucks :).

Snow? or not

Supposedly we are getting the last major snow storm of the season tonight...and so far I have seen no signs. Not sure how it will be when I wake up though.

Correction...I just checked outside and it is starting to snow lightly...hmmm.....

I have been a member of the local grange hall, Leedy Grange, since about November or so....and am starting to spend a lot of time there between local meetings, counties wide meetings and other events going on as fundraisers and the like. There is a monthly flea market that's held at the hall....and it looked like it was in danger of being cancelled due to the person running it not being able to anymore. So I volunteered to take it over....but I don't know what I'm doing so I have to have other people help me figure this out. But I really want to take this over I think it would be fun and a good outlet for me....and I love it so much it would be worth my while. It's a great flea market.....in the Cedar Mill area of Portland....anyone who might read this and is in the area should check it out.

Busy week and weekend

on other notes I had a busy week of work and of the older girls getting their wisdom teeth out and hanging out with at least one of them while they had the procedure done. They are both recovering nicely and are sick of really soft food :)

Working on a couple of projects for the local grange hall ....I plan to help with the monthly flea market we have so it can keep going and we are going to put a presence on facebook as well....should be interesting.

damn what is wrong with people

What is with the stupid lately? A couple of days ago I left my office and went down to the max station like usual...and see that MY train is stopped at the platform that is one station back, with a supervisor vehicle parked in front of it. Turns out it hit a car that was going across the tracks when it shouldn't have.....meaning that the person driving was an idiot. The only two reasons people get hit by max are 1. they are NOT paying attention or 2. they are trying to BEAT the train like an idiot. If people would stop doing these two things NO ONE would ever get hit by max. There really is no excuse for it.

So we get past that and I'm rolling out of Sunset Transit on the bus when I see some skateboard kid riding down the middle of the lane, on the road coming out of the transit center, on the wrong side of the road. Yet he acted surprised when a car came around the corner and almost hit him head on. What did you expect?

Then today the max just breaks down on the way to work..but luckily didn't end up making me late.

Tonight I have grange business to take care of (I'm a member of the Leedy Grange for the Cedar Mill area of town)....mainly putting up a photo exhibit in anticipation of tomorrow's fund raising breakfast.

So now what

I have had this blog going on and off for a number of years now. I've covered different aspects of my life, and the events going on within it, that I don't want to revisit anymore. The past has been deleted from this blog and I am trying to figure out which direction to go now. I don't have a subject in mind really. Maybe I will use this more as a photo blog kind of thing....that will inspire me to take more photos like I should be doing.

It used to be easy to point my domain to this blog and have it work well. Now it is just a major pain in the ass and for now I'm going to stick with the address lilsheba.blogspot.com.....fuck it.
